Pumpkin Palooza

Image
Guys! I have great news! I decided to step out of my comfort zone and I joined a blog hop called Pumpkin Palooza hosted by Pineapple and Pine! I am honestly so excited to get to be seen among these talented designers. The blog hop runs  from August 30th - September 30th 2021 with a new pattern everyday! You may have some questions about all of this works, and I am going to break it down as best as I can. How does it work? You may be wondering "what's a blog hop?" So basically the wonderful ladies at Pineapple and Pine brought together a bunch of awesome designers and we all agreed to give you the PDF for our pumpkins for FREE on Ravelry for 24 hours. That's right FREE, but you must go to the host page to get that sweet sweet code. Once you have that code, you can go to the designers page to download the PDF. You may ask, "Why do I need to hop around?" Long story short, you are driving traffic to these designers, which could mean exposure to a greater audie

Puff Stitch Pumpkins Pattern Release!

Fall is my favorite season, which is probably why a majority of my patterns follow that theme. As a kid I always loved getting to carve pumpkins with intricate details but most of all, I loved Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving had always been my favorite holiday because of how my big Italian family always got together. Halloween was always a close second though! As we all got older and moved across the country, Thanksgiving became less of a big deal, but it created a perfect opportunity for Halloween to rise in the ranks to #1 Holiday.  These days I carve my pumpkins on Halloween night with some crazy detailed Tim Burton character (I use a stencil, I am not a pumpkin carving artist) and I make pumpkin seeds that usually don't make it to the end of the night. With the current state of the world, I shall continue this tradition because it's not like we can go out anyways...  I also have this annoying habit of starting to decorate for Halloween in July, which is why my house is a pumpkin

Money Bag Keychain Pattern

Image
Hey guys! Long time no post... Hopefully this free little guy will allow you to forgive me. I made this little guy originally for one of my closest friends (my cousin) last year when we were obsessed with Animal Crossing. It started out as a bell bag but it evolved into a few other things, the money bag being my favorite.  This pattern uses a very small amount of yarn and you can whip it up fast, so I highly recommend it if you're in a time crunch. I plan to bring a bunch of these to my next market because of how quickly they work up. Be sure to check out the images at the end of the pattern to see the cute bags made by my pattern testers!  I also want to announce that I have started a Patreon! I'm hoping that once more people join, we can do lots of fun and exclusive things. Most tiers will have access to the PDFs for new patterns for no additional cost. They can also be found on ETSY. I plan to have a few surprises for my members and I am so excited to start this journey, i

Pattern Testing/ Linda Jo Release

Image
Hey guys! This post is going to be a little different, It is going to be about my experience as both a pattern tester and a designer. Over the last year I really embraced the crafting community, mainly through Instagram, and it embraced me back. Through them I was able to find confidence in my skills and I made some great friends! So I should backtrack to when I was like ten scrolling around for patterns. First of all I was one of those people who would NEVER EVER pay for a pattern because I thought I could figure it out on my own, and I was you know... POOR. I thought that it was selfish for someone to charge for something that I could figure out by looking at the picture. I would search the internet for free pattern websites for hours (Thank heavens for Pinterest-- AM I RIGHT) and I would still end up free handing most of the time. It was not pretty, I made some odd things back then. Fast forward to last year when I was making spiders all Fall long. I got a quite a few requests

Since it is now September, I can keep making cute fall decorations without feeling guilty. I was talking to my grandmother the other day and she told me to consider writing up some of my patterns and selling them. That sounds like an awesome idea, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for it yet. In preparation for my eventual pattern selling debut, I'm going to test it out here first! As always, finished items are available for sale on my Etsy (LizzyBeeHandmade) Let's start with my favorite thing to make right now... PUMPKINS!!!!!
